After breakfast, you do the walking safaris to the nearby forest of lake duluti , where you will have the opportunity to do kanu around the lake , see monkeys and birds around the amaizing forest by the lake. After approx. 2 – 3 hours, you return back to the chosen Hotel for a good rest and lunch. afterwards we will arrange our shuttle bus and take you around town and late evening you return back to the chosen Hotel for other leisure activities like swimming and watching the movies.

Price will be US$ 20 per person including  Forest Fee Charge & The Guide Charge and US$  40 per person including Forest fee charge ,tour guide charge and kanu , you Only Tip (Tips range from $5 – $20) per person/group. Also depending on how clients were happy with the tour.

Materuni Waterfall & Coffee Tour

A varied day on the slopes of Kilimanjaro

Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is just 15km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park.

Upon arrival, you will register at the village office and your trip can begin.

First, you will visit the waterfalls, which is around 40-minute walk from the village office. On the way, will get to know  about chagga culture, village life and the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls of which you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear!

After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch and also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer called MBEGE brewed from bananas around definitely not to be missed!

But that’s not all.

Next, the coffee experience awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Before you say goodbye and return to the hotel youcan savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.
